At the core of Picture Start Films is director/producer Elliot Caplan whose work includes film & video, painting, photography, media installation and theatrical media for music, opera and dance. Caplan is the creator of acclaimed documentaries ranging from the 95-minute documentary Cage/Cunningham to an Emmy Award-winning segment produced for PBS on the completed restoration of the New York Public Library's Rose Reading Room.

Donald DuBois has worked with Caplan since 2002 as assistant, production manager, online editor and cinematographer.

Current projects of Picture Start Films include a recently completed two year shoot with choreographer, Paul Taylor and The Paul Taylor Dance Company and theatrical music projects with composer, David Felder.
